Collection: 17 STEPHANIE SCHNEIDER

Stephanie Schneider

It is eternity versus the present, certainty versus the fleeting.
It's detail for the minimalist and nostalgia for the Stoic.

Stephanie Schneider's pure aesthetic sensibility was nurtured by the sublime landscapes and secluded idyllic surroundings of the German Alps, and she found a way to express this unique aesthetic sensibility through traditional handicraft techniques.

Schneider's textile background is apparent in each of her pieces, as she translates her sensibility for pure and precise textures with incredible dexterity and attention to detail into delicate, timeless jewelry of the highest quality.

For example, she mixes a wide range of materials, from mohair to silk and linen to traditional jewellery metals.

Schneider's jewelry brand, 17, was launched in Berlin in 2006 and has since been presented to a global audience four times a year during Paris Fashion Week.

So far the collections have been divided into three main themes: mohair, silk and jewels, a material obsession that evolves without being tied to the seasons.

The number 17 in the brand name represents Schneider's philosophy of being interested in numerology. 1 represents beginnings, 7 represents completeness, and the sum of the two, 8, symbolizes eternity. A fitting philosophy, as people treasure their fine jewelry forever.
