As a collaborative project based in Antwerp, Belgium, all shapes, finishes and patterns are researched in-house.

Natural fabrics are sourced, and sometimes co-developed, from artisanal textile mills. This manual process requires time and patience, so the pieces are produced on a small, personal scale, which is why they are part of numbered editions.

An important part of UNKRUID's fabric research focuses on how the garments age over time when worn and washed. Their design philosophy and fabric selection celebrates nostalgic pastoral sentiments as well as contemporary technical sentiments.

This combination of old and new respects time-honoured craftsmanship in the modern era.
