Collection: MARIA RUDMAN
Now based in Paris, Marie Rudman has been travelling the world as a model, stylist and photographer since the age of 17. Her life story is expressed in every piece of work.
The traditional techniques of the Sami people, a minority group in Northern Europe, are steadily declining. Marialdoman, who is also Sami, has been working with selected craftsmen over the years to spread the techniques to fashionable shops around the world, taking advantage of the sense he has developed through his life experiences, in order to preserve these techniques for the future.
○ SILVER COLLECTION
In the 17th century, the idea that silver was a symbol of wealth spread among the Sámi people, and this is still evident today, with silverwork being very popular among the Sámi people.
○ CLASSIC COLLECTION
The Sámi people, the indigenous people of Lapland in Northern Scandinavia, are known for their deep-rooted relationship and coexistence with reindeer since ancient times. Their traditional handicraft "DUODJI" is made by artisans (※) one by one by hand using traditional embroidery techniques that have been handed down for hundreds of years since the 16th century.
*Some of our artisans also embroider dresses for the Swedish royal family.
The cross, which is Maria Rudman's logo, represents the sun wheel and the four directions, north, south, east and west, and expresses her view of the world, which emphasizes balance with nature. The four colored ribbons represent RED: Heart / YELLOW: Sun / GREEN: Grass / BLUE: Sky.
