Rugs from the Journey|旅が織る布
Nomadic Textiles in Stillness
Fabrics encountered during my journey in Morocco,
infused with the essence of travel.
The morning light of Marrakech.
The cold air of the Atlas Mountains.
And the road leading to the Sahara.
Amidst the breath of the land and the rhythm of daily life,
the rugs stood silently.
One day,
in a souk filled with the scent of sand and mint tea,
I laughed with a merchant as we unrolled each fabric.
Another day,
at dusk.
As the prayers from the mountains slowly faded into the sky,
in the dimming light,
I was taught the meaning of the patterns.
Travel is not about scenery,
but an experience of touching the atmosphere.
Rugs are not about technique or decoration,
but fabrics born as an extension of hands and daily life.
Gathering around tagines,
sharing couscous,
what I learned while spending time with people.
Beauty born to be used.
Now, the memories of that journey
are here.
Not decoration, but memory.
Woven from time and travel.
